May 2018 Chapter Meeting - AWS Security Best Practices

Dinner and Presentation: AWS Security Best Practices

Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (MDT)

990 South Broadway, Denver, CO 80209

AWS Security Best PracticesThis presentation will provide practical and actionable advice on securing AWS cloud infrastructure. The AWS shared security model means that AWS as a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) will provide physical security and security of the systems that support their Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering. However, the customer bares much of the responsibility of configuring their access security, the virtual networking, cloud connectivity, protocol filters, their virtual servers, and storage. This presentation will review the best practices for configuring AWS security. This presentation will finish with a live demonstration of these security best practices. The demo will show how scriptable infrastructure can provide a secure foundation for applications. The demonstration will show how management systems can be used to gain visibility to your environment.
